Prairie Poppins Animal Care is a small but rapidly growing pet care business serving Brookline, Hollis, Milford, Amherst, Bedford, Mason and Wilton NH areas. We provide compassionate, personalized care for our clients' beloved pets, from daily dog walks to attentive pet sitting. Our team is made up of dedicated animal lovers, each bringing extensive experience in pet care, veterinary settings, and other diverse backgrounds, allowing us to provide well-rounded, knowledgeable, and compassionate care for every pet we serve. We've built strong relationships with pet parents who trust us to care for their furry family members—and we're excited to grow our team! We are currently looking to hire as soon as possible, with a particular need for someone with evening and weekend availability for pet sitting and walks. hours may be expanded as dictated by the workload!

What You'll Do:
Walk dogs of various sizes, breeds, and energy levels, ensuring they get proper exercise and socialization. Monitor dog behavior during walks, addressing any issues calmly and confidently. Maintain control of dogs using proper leash techniques and safe handling methods. Provide pet sitting visits, which may include feeding, administering medication, and ensuring pets' overall well-being. Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates on their pets and noting any concerns. Keep records of each walk or visit, including duration, distance covered, and any notable observations. Ensure all equipment (leashes, harnesses, etc.) is in good condition and follow all safety protocols.
What We're Looking For:
Prior animal experience required (veterinary work, kennel, or pet sitting). Strong understanding of dog behavior and handling techniques. Ability to manage multiple dogs at once and adjust to different energy levels. Physically capable of walking for extended periods and lifting/maneuvering larger dogs if needed. Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently. Strong communication skills to interact professionally with pet owners. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. At least 18 years of age. Must be able to pass a background check. Comfortable working in all weather conditions. This is an independent contractor position with flexible hours based on client needs.
