We work with dogs of all ages and breeds, offering private training sessions, group classes, Board & Train, boarding, and canine health coaching. Position Summary The Assistant Dog Trainer / Kennel Tech is a hands-on role responsible for keeping boarding and Board & Train programs running smoothly. This role supports the Owner/Head Trainer and Lead Trainer in all aspects of dog training, enrichment, and canine nutrition, while performing top-notch kennel tech duties. The ideal candidate is motivated to continuously improve, grow into a dog trainer role, and deliver exceptional care in a fast-paced, home-based environment.

Key Responsibilities Dog Training & Behavior Support:

Teach and reinforce basic dog skills and manners: kennel, door, house, loose leash walking Assist with private sessions, group classes, and Board & Train programs Coach dog parents in the Lead Trainer's absence Use training tools appropriately, including e-collar, slip lead, and prong collar; ensure proper placement and fitting

Enrichment & Play:

Lead structured park/playtime enrichment and learning through play Support mental and physical stimulation for all dogs in care

Canine Nutrition & Wellness:

Assist with diet guidance, monitor feeding, and report concerns Observe dogs for health and wellness issues; perform routine body checks

Kennel Tech Duties:

Perform daily kennel tech tasks including feeding, bathing, administering medications, cleaning kennels, and waste removal Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary environment Execute intakes, turnovers, and record-keeping accurately

Continuous Improvement:

Develop skills to progress from Assistant Trainer to Dog Trainer Take initiative to improve training, enrichment, and kennel tech practices Requirements / Non-Negotiables Base knowledge of dog handling and behavior; ability to learn quickly Ability to self-regulate, prioritize, and work independently Strong attention to detail, time management, and multitasking skills Commitment to safety for dogs and humans

Tech-savvy:

able to use phones, apps, and other tools for scheduling, tracking, and communication Must have a reliable car and phone Able to work weekends as needed Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in temperatures 115°F+ outdoors Desire to grow with the company and expand knowledge in dog training, enrichment, and canine nutrition Preferred Qualifications Experience in boarding, kennel tech, or dog training Knowledge of canine wellness, nutrition, and positive reinforcement techniques Comfortable in a small, home-based business environment Excellent client communication and problem-solving skills Dialed kennel tech skills and experience supporting training programs Compensation & Benefits $15-17/hour starting, with growth potential based on performance Hands-on experience in training, enrichment, and canine wellness Opportunities for growth and advancement within the company Employee discount Flexible schedule On-the-job training and paid training Professional development assistance Referral program How to Apply Hi!
