Job Description

Job Summary:
A Dog Kennel Worker is responsible for providing daily care, supervision, and maintenance for dogs housed in a kennel facility. This position requires a strong love for animals, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for all dogs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Feed and provide fresh water to dogs according to scheduled feeding plans. Clean and sanitize kennels, runs, cages, and common areas daily. Exercise dogs through walks, playtime, and supervised outdoor activities. Monitor dogs for signs of illness, injury, stress, or unusual behavior and report concerns to management. Administer medications as directed by veterinarians or kennel supervisors. Bathe, brush, and perform basic grooming tasks as needed. Maintain accurate records of feeding, medication, exercise, and health observations. Ensure all dogs receive proper care, attention, and socialization. Assist with check-in and check-out procedures for boarding and daycare clients. Follow safety protocols when handling dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Communicate professionally with pet owners regarding their pets' care and well-being. Assist with emergency situations involving animal health or facility safety.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience working with dogs or animals is preferred but not required. Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to safely restrain and manage active dogs.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced animal care facility. Exposure to barking, pet odors, cleaning chemicals, and animal hair. May require weekends, holidays, and flexible scheduling.
Pay Range:
$12-$20 per hour (depending on experience, location, and responsibilities). Pay:
$22.49 - $27.08 per hour
