Job Description

Flash Dog Training is celebrating our 11th year in business in 2026 and looking to add a motivated, committed, high-performing canine professional to our team here in beautiful Central Oregon! We are a board and train based business seeking a Dog Trainer for full-time employment. Our ideal candidate has at least 3 years of balanced professional dog training experience working with clients using prong AND e collars. Previous experience teaching fundamental reward and prong collar techniques to clients is required. We are willing to train the right individual to learn our e collar system, but that will be reflected in starting pay. We pride ourselves on our fair and thorough e collar conditioning process, so even if you have experience with this tool, you still must have an open mind, be willing to take constructive criticism and teach our systems to clients. This is a high-performance role inside a fast paced, no-excuses environment. We are looking for someone who can move with urgency all day, stay organized with dog training tasks and client communication, maintain a high level of cleanliness and professionalism at all times. You will be working dogs daily, helping maintain the facility and representing the brand in real world environments. Kennel tech duties are a part of every trainer's job and taking pride in husbandry and care is a requirement for this role. This position is for someone who takes pride in doing things right, thrives under pressure, and truly wants to operate at a high level. We get to help dogs and people; our clients are making huge investments in their dogs for our expertise and they deserve us at our best. You must have great customer service skills and be approachable and helpful to other staff members. I cannot stress enough that Flash Dog Training is a professional environment. We are looking for someone that is already living in and carrying the responsibility of the dog training lifestyle, considers themselves a steward for dogs and their well-being and most importantly wants to improving their skill set as a canine professional. We cannot employ someone who lacks the ability to separate professional feedback from personal feelings. You must desire to grow professionally in this role and be able to have open and transparent conversations with your team, superiors and clients. Professional and mature communication skills are a MUST! We are meticulous when caring for all dogs in our program. We turn stones and initiate conversations with owners that consider the whole dog. We dive deeply into nutrition, movement, nail care etc. We annually host presenters and have weekly trainer meetings to enrich our professional culture and education.
Job duties include:
Kennel and grounds cleaning, training dogs, selling dog training programs over the phone to perspective clients updating clients of their dog's progress via social media, conducting half-way and go-home lessons, all general canine husbandry practices (grooming, nail trimming, bathing, etc.) This position includes 1 week accrued PTO and 40 hours sick time, as well as our majority company-paid full health benefits. $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
