Job Description

Dog Trainer - In-Home Dog Training (Salem, OR & Surrounding Areas) Smart Dog Pet Training is looking for a motivated and dependable dog trainer to join our growing team. This position involves working directly with clients and their dogs in real-life environments including homes, neighborhoods, parks, and public settings. We are seeking someone who is professional, coachable, reliable, and passionate about helping dogs and owners succeed together. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in dog training while gaining hands-on experience with puppy training, obedience training, leash training, and behavior modification. Responsibilities Conduct in-home dog training sessions with clients Teach obedience skills and behavior management techniques Coach dog owners through training exercises and homework Work with puppies, adolescent dogs, and adult dogs Maintain professional communication with clients Travel to client homes and training locations Keep basic training notes and client updates Qualifications Strong interest in dog training and animal behavior Professional communication and customer service skills Reliable transportation and valid driver's license Ability to work independently and stay organized Dependable, punctual, and professional Comfortable working evenings and some weekends Willingness to learn and follow company training methods Preferred Experience Previous dog training or dog handling experience preferred Experience with positive reinforcement training methods preferred Customer service experience is a plus Compensation & Benefits W-2 employee position Mileage reimbursement Cell phone reimbursement Flexible scheduling Paid training and mentorship Opportunity for advancement and long-term growth About Smart Dog Pet Training Smart Dog Pet Training provides personalized, reward-based in-home dog training throughout Salem and surrounding communities.
