Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Dog Trainer and make a positive impact on the lives of dogs and their owners! In this energetic role, you will utilize your expertise in dog training, animal handling, and pet care to teach obedience, improve behavior, and foster healthy relationships between pets and their families. Your passion for animals and commitment to excellence will help create well-behaved, happy dogs while providing exceptional customer service to pet owners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive environment dedicated to animal well-being and owner satisfaction. Duties Conduct training sessions for dogs of all ages and temperaments, focusing on obedience, socialization, and behavior modification Handle dogs safely using proper restraint techniques during training and routine care Assess each dog's temperament and develop customized training plans tailored to individual needs Assist with pet grooming, pet sitting, and general animal care tasks as needed to ensure overall well-being Educate pet owners on training techniques, behavior management, and pet care best practices Perform heavy lifting when required to assist with kennel cleaning, equipment setup, or transporting animals Qualifications Proven experience in dog training or animal handling, with a strong understanding of canine behavior principles Veterinary experience or background as a veterinary technician or assistant is highly desirable but not necessary Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and safe handling practices Knowledge of pet grooming, pet sitting, and general animal care routines Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members Prior kennel experience or working in animal shelters is a plus Passion for animals combined with a proactive attitude and enthusiasm for ongoing learning.
