Someone who can keep a positive/calm attitude with staff, pets, and clients! The Shift Lead will be responsible for ensuring the pets in our care are well taken care of, also maintaining a professional work environment.
Responsibilities include:
Animal care: You are responsible for your assigned pets; cleaning each room, feeding, exercising, and filling out the pet's kennel cards, along with medications and daily activities. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming work environment Animal knowledge: Animal health and behavior: A lead must be able to monitor all animals for signs of stress, illness, injury, or unusual behavior and report any concerns to a manager. This requires a deep understanding of animal behavior, including signs of fear, aggression, and anxiety.
Safe handling and restraint:
Leads must be proficient in animal handling techniques for a wide variety of breeds and temperaments.
Medication and special needs:
Responsible for overseeing the accurate administration of medications and ensuring all specific dietary or medical needs for each animal are met.
Supervising staff:
Delegate tasks, provide guidance, monitor performance, and offer coaching to employees.
Ensuring operational efficiency:
Coordinate shift activities.
Training and development:
Assist with training new employees.
