We are a Fear Free focused facility that prioritizes emotional wellbeing, enrichment, decompression, and relationship-based care over outdated correction-based handling. Our environment is intentionally calm, structured, home-like, and enrichment-forward. We are currently restructuring our training services and are looking for an experienced, positive reinforcement-based trainer to help us build a premium Day School and coaching program. This is an opportunity to help shape a growing department within an already established client community and brand. Position Overview We are seeking a knowledgeable, professional, and emotionally intelligent Dog Trainer / Canine Behavior Specialist who is passionate about: Fear Free handling Positive reinforcement training Canine body language and behavior Enrichment-based care Building confidence in dogs Client education and communication This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow with a business long-term and help create a unique training experience that blends daycare, enrichment, emotional regulation, and real-life manners training. Responsibilities Conduct private training sessions and evaluations Assist in developing structured Day School programs Create individualized training plans Provide owner coaching and homework Maintain detailed progress notes and report cards Capture video/photo updates for clients Collaborate with daycare and enrichment staff Help dogs build confidence, social skills, handling tolerance, and emotional regulation Maintain a calm, professional, Fear Free environment Uphold Fur Seasons training philosophies and standards Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Uses force-free / positive reinforcement methods only Has strong understanding of canine behavior and body language Is comfortable working with fearful, shy, adolescent, and overstimulated dogs Has excellent communication skills with both clients and staff Is organized, dependable, and self-motivated Values collaboration and professionalism Is excited to help build and grow a training department Is comfortable with documentation, structure, and accountability systems Requirements Professional dog training experience preferred Fear Free, CCPDT, KPA, IAABC, or similar certifications strongly preferred Experience with enrichment-based training and cooperative care is a plus Ability to safely handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments Reliable transportation Compensation Commission-based pay structure Growth opportunities as training department expands Established client base and marketing support provided Training integrated into an existing premium daycare and boarding environment Compensation details will be discussed during the interview process based on experience and qualifications.
