K9 Dog Trainer - MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE

Warriors Heart is looking for an experienced K9 trainer for our Emotional Support and Service Dog program. Come be a part of a team that assists in healing our nations warriors! Serious inquires only.

Experience:

• minimum 2 years experience

TRAINING

dogs

• basic obedience, emotional support and service work
• understanding and knowledge of dog behaviors
• must have knowledge of addiction, PTSD and other emotional human behaviors and how it relates to dogs
• able to work under pressure and communicate effectively
• knowledgeable on computer platforms (word, excel, etc)
• able to pass a Background Check
• willing to submit to drug and alcohol screenings Duties (to include but not limited to):
• assist in cleaning, feeding, grooming and vet check-ups
• train K9 program dogs to assist people with disabilities
• familiarize program dogs with human interaction
• conduct environmental training on and off site
• teach basic obedience skills
• provide dogs with physical and mental exercises during training process
• assist with matching dogs with clients and work with pair on specific needs
• monitor and assess performance of dog and client to make improvements or corrective action
• document training, accidents, injuries, etc www.
