Train, condition, and handle Peruvian Paso horses for show, breeding, and performance purposes; Develop and implement individualized training programs based on each horse; Exercise, ride, and evaluate horses to improve gait, responsiveness, and overall performance; Adjust training methods and schedules as needed; Feed, water, and bathe horses; Monitor and record horses physical condition, behavior, and health status; Identify signs of illness or injury and coordinate veterinary care and treatment; Clean and maintain stalls, equipment, and training areas; Oversee and manage the breeding program, including monitoring mares, assisting with foaling, and maintaining accurate breeding, health, and lineage records; Train and handle young horses to develop ground manners, halter training, and readiness for riding; purchase and maintain inventory of feed, hay, bedding, supplements, and other necessary supplies; Coordinate with farriers, veterinarians, and suppliers to ensure proper and timely care of horses; Prepare horses for transport, exhibitions, and competitions; Evaluate and select horses for breeding, sale, or training; Maintain detailed logs of training progress, feeding schedules, and care activities; Must reside on the employer's ranch premises located at Bon Wier, Texas, to provide daily care and supervision of horses; On-site housing will be provided.
