Pay:
$18- $20.00 per hour Job description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dog Kennel Attendant to join our pet care team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and attention to dogs in our facility, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. As well as checking customers, in and out and communicating to customers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals, applying your animal and customer service skills to create a safe and nurturing environment. This is not an entry-level job. Minimum of a 1 year commitment. This is an independent, demanding position. You'll be required to work independently performing tasks to ensure the well-being of all our guests. We are looking for someone with experience working in a dog boarding facility or veterinary clinic. Required to work all school breaks, holidays, including Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Responsibilities Monitor and care for dogs housed in the kennel, ensuring their safety, cleanliness, and comfort at all times Supervise dogs during play times to ensure their safety and well-being Maintain cleanliness in kennels and common areas by performing regular cleaning tasks Maintain detailed records of each dog's health status, behavior observations, and daily activities Monitor behavior and health, promptly reporting any concerns to the management team Intuitive, able to adapt to stressful and busy times. Assist with heavy lifting when necessary to move kennels or equipment safely Skills Proven experience in dog handling Previous experience in kennel work, veterinary care, or dog handling would be a great asset A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, all holidays and school breaks. Working on all holidays is required including working thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members Ability to perform heavy lifting Exceptional animal handling skills combined with a compassionate attitude toward pets and their owners Ability to work with potentially people reactive, as well as dog aggressive dogs Join us in creating a safe haven where dogs feel loved, cared for, and happy!
Job Type:
20-35 hours. More hours during July-December, all holidays, and school breaks.
Pay:
$18 - $22 per hour depending on years of experience working in a dog kennel facility. Potential raise within six months to one year Room for growth and management positions. Takes at least six months to one year to completely master this position depending on experience.
