Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dog Trainer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for training dogs of various breeds and temperaments, ensuring they develop good behavior and obedience skills. You will work closely with both the dogs and their owners, providing guidance and support to foster a positive relationship between them. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and handling, with a focus on creating a safe and effective training environment. Responsibilities Conduct individual and group training sessions for dogs, focusing on obedience, behavior modification, and socialization. Assess each dog's temperament and tailor training programs to meet their specific needs. Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviors in dogs. Provide owners with guidance on training techniques and best practices for maintaining their dog's training at home. Maintain accurate records of each dog's progress throughout the training process. Ensure the safety of all animals during training sessions by employing proper animal handling techniques. Collaborate with veterinary staff as needed to address any health or behavioral concerns that may arise during training. Assist in pet care duties as required, including grooming, feeding, and general animal care. Qualifications Proven experience in dog training or related fields such as veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of dog handling techniques and animal behavior principles. Experience in animal restraint and care, including kennel experience is beneficial. Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners about their dog's progress and needs. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, particularly when handling larger breeds or equipment. A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being is essential for success in this role.
