The ROP provides high school students with industry required technical skills for high demand jobs. SGVROP is accredited by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges). Career Technical Education (CTE) classes are offered in a multitude of Career Pathways at the high school sites within six member school districts (Azusa, Baldwin Park, Charter Oak, Glendora, San Gabriel, and Walnut). Most ROP classes include simulated hands-on learning opportunities at a local business in the community. We welcome highly qualified, skilled professionals to join our committed and dedicated staff in providing all students with the highest quality academic and technical skills necessary to become successful. Job Summary Job Summary Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, you will instruct students in the theories and skills of cosmetology. SGVROP is seeking a licensed cosmetologist who is passionate about teaching. The ideal candidate should be able to provide students with comprehensive knowledge in areas such as haircutting, coloring, and styling. Candidates must possess a valid state-specific cosmetology license, have strong communication skills, and maintain a professional appearance. Prior experience in a salon or spa setting is preferred. Candidates should hold a valid CTE Credential or have the ability to obtain one. Comments and Other Information Must have at least 5 years of experience in the subject area (one year must be within the last three years). Up to two years of the required work experience may be substituted with additional approved, related post high school education, apprenticeship program, or college preparation. Must have (or be eligible and willing to apply for) a valid Designated Subjects Credential authorizing services in the subject to be taught. Applicants with a Bachelor degree preferred. Comments and Other Information Must have at least 5 years of experience in the subject area (one year must be within the last three years). Up to two years of the required work experience may be substituted with additional approved, related post high school education, apprenticeship program, or college preparation.
