Job Description
Clippers Barbershop is currently hiring! We are busy and looking to hire hardworking Barbers or Cosmetologists, who enjoy cutting and styling men's hair, to our SLO location! Applicants must be organized, have a positive attitude and enjoy working in a busy, team oriented atmosphere. Barbershop experience is not required, we are happy to train any licensed individual looking for more experience in the barber industry, men's haircut experience is required. Our SLO shop has been in operation for 18+ years and is well established in the SLO community. We are located on Monterey Street/uptown SLO, close to Cal Poly, down town, hotels and freeway on/off ramps. We specialize in men's haircuts, beard trims, styling and grooming products. Shop hours are 10-630PM Monday-Sunday. Website- www.clippersbarber.com SLO Shop- @clippersbarbershop_slo Instagram Responsibilities Welcome clients! Book appointments, answer phones, check clients in and out Manage bookings and serve walk-ins Provide a thorough consultation to every client and identify their preferences before starting the haircut service Recommend hairstyles and haircuts according to customers' face shapes and tastes Cut, trim and shave hair using professional equipment Wash, rinse and dry clients' hair Form bonds with loyal customers and remember their hairstyle preferences to help build and retain your own request clientele Ensure tidiness of barber stations between clients and sterilize tools, as needed Be a team player and help maintain shop cleanliness between clients by sweeping, wiping down surfaces, washing, folding and stocking towels, answering phones etc. Skills Work experience as a Hair Stylist or Barber Proficiency in customer service Knowledge of a wide range of haircuts, suitable for all hair lengths and textures Familiarity with men's hairstyling products Up-to-date with industry trends Excellent communication skills Physical stamina to stand for long hours Flexibility to work in shifts Valid California State Cosmetology or Barber license Requirements Must have reliable transportation Must arrive to scheduled shifts on time and ready to work Must have a positive attitude and be a team player Benefits Hourly or Commission based pay Product commission Bonus incentives Top notch clientele who tip generously Opportunity to build and a retain request clientele Closed for all major holidays Flexible scheduling Set monthly schedules (guaranteed two days off in a row) Training and continued education offered to new employees Shear sharpening We employ a staff of positive and confident women who make it a priority to work together as a team to help create a fun, easy going work environment.
