The Opportunity:
We are searching for a confident, patient and inspiring "Barber Educator" who is passionate about teaching students theory, practical and technical skills in the instruction of barbering techniques including fades, tapers, shaves, beard design, clipper work, and straight razor shaving. You will be responsible for facilitating classes, overseeing student provided services on the clinic floor, monitor student progress and provide instruction to motivate students in all areas of cosmetology. This is a vital role at Stacey James Institute! You will receive educator training and support to help you succeed in the classroom. You will have the opportunity to continue working behind the chair part-time or on your own schedule for supplemental income. We are a collaborative and upbeat team that values integrity, structure and creativity.
Key Responsibilities:
The essential duties include but are not limited to: Teach hands-on barbering techniques including fades, tapers, shaves, beard design, clipper work, and straight razor shaving. Instruct students in theory and practical skills to prepare them for licensure and long-term success in the industry. Demonstrate services and techniques with clarity and professionalism. Oversee student provided services on the clinic floor. Monitor and support student progress, attendance, and skill development. Create a structured, motivating classroom environment where students can thrive. Stay updated on trends, tools, and industry standards to bring fresh, relevant education to the classroom.
Qualifications:
Current and valid Colorado barber or barber-stylist license required and in good standing . Minimum of 2 years licensed industry experience in a salon or similar setting required. A passion for teaching and mentoring others - even if you've never taught before. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Professionalism, accountability, and commitment to student growth.
Compensation and Benefits:
Starting pay is $23.00 DOE. First performance review after 6 months with the potential for pay adjustments based on performance. Stacey James Institute is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
