We specialize in the prep, maintenance, and removal of protective styles - so clients don't have to. Our services keep the hair and scalp healthy, making it easier for customers (or their stylists) to achieve their next look. With multiple locations across South Florida and more on the way, we are setting a new standard in professional hair care with a focus on healthy hair, convenience, and client-centered service. Position Overview The Unbraider plays a key role in client care by removing protective styles and performing Wash Bar's core prep services. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and perfect for professionals passionate about natural hair care and client satisfaction. Unbraiders help maintain smooth salon flow, support teammates, and provide clients with a consistent, high-quality Wash Bar experience. Key Responsibilities Operations & Problem Solving Support day-to-day salon operations with attention to detail and efficiency Assist with sanitizing tools, restocking stations, and maintaining supply levels Identify and communicate operational issues to the Operations Manager or Hair Associate Adapt to scheduling changes and client needs with professionalism Salon Operations Maintain a clean, safe, and professional salon environment at all times Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and safety protocols Complete assigned prep and closing tasks consistently and on time Contribute to overall salon organization, efficiency, and client flow Client Services & Technical Skills Safely and efficiently remove protective styles including braids, twists, and sew-ins Perform Wash Bar core prep services: detangling, shampooing, deep conditioning, scalp treatments, and blow-drying Deliver consistent, high-quality results that align with Wash Bar standards Assist in creating a positive client experience by being attentive, professional, and supportive Provide product knowledge and service recommendations when appropriate Qualifications (Required) Ability to safely and efficiently remove protective styles (braids, twists, sew-ins, etc.) Strong detangling, shampooing, deep conditioning, scalp treatment, and blow-dry skills Proven ability to follow structured service protocols and timing standards Excellent communication and client service skills Commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and maintaining salon flow Willingness to complete all Wash Bar training modules (Silk Press, Braid-Down, Wig Drop-Off Prep) Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a salon, blow-dry bar, or protective style prep environment Familiarity with natural hair care and scalp health practices Strong attention to detail in sanitation and workstation upkeep Experience working in a fast-paced, client-centered environment Interest in pursuing a Florida Cosmetology License (required for promotion to Hair Associate) Compensation & Benefits Flexible scheduling (7 days/week, extended hours) Employee discounts on services and products Eligible for promotion to Hair Associate after completing training and demonstrating technical skills Access to advanced stylist training and mentorship within a growing brand
