Natural Hair Stylist

Natural Hair Stylists receive a percentage of final service sales. Commissions starts at 45% of final service sales. Cosmetology License is a plus but not required. Duties Perform a variety of natural hair styling services including natural hair twists, braid-outs, locs, bantu knots, and a variety of protective styles tailored to each client's needs. Consult with clients to understand their hair goals, assess hair health, and recommend suitable treatments or styles. Maintain high standards of sanitation and sterilization in accordance with salon protocols to ensure client safety. Utilize salon software such as

to schedule appointments, process transactions, and manage client records efficiently. Educate clients on proper hair care routines, product usage, and maintenance tips to support healthy hair growth. Assist with front desk duties including greeting clients, managing retail sales of hair care products, and upselling services to enhance client satisfaction. Mentor junior stylists or apprentices by sharing expertise in natural hair techniques and customer service excellence. Stay current with industry trends in natural hair styling, color theory, eyelash extensions, makeup application, nail care, and retail sales strategies. Skills Proficiency in natural hair styling techniques such as braiding, twisting, locs installation, and protective styles. Experience with hair extensions application and maintenance to create versatile looks. Knowledge of salon management software like

for scheduling and retail transactions. Strong understanding of color theory applicable to natural hair coloring options. Skilled in sanitation practices including sterilization of tools like straight razors and other implements. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate clients on hair care routines and product recommendations. Ability to perform additional beauty services such as eyelash extensions, makeup application, nail care, or threading as needed. Demonstrated ability in retail sales techniques including upselling products and retail math accuracy. Capable of managing store operations or assisting with store management tasks when required.
