O'Grady's Barbershop Overview of the Role O'Grady's Barbershop has been a staple in the community for over 20 years, serving a loyal and growing clientele in a busy, modern, and comfortable environment. We are looking for a Mens Hair Stylist who is passionate about men's grooming, takes pride in their craft, and delivers an exceptional client experience every time. This role is ideal for a licensed Barber or Cosmetologist who is already skilled in men's cuts and is looking to grow with a well-established shop. You will start on a part-time basis with a clear path to full-time hours as you build your book and integrate into our team. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality men's haircuts , including clipper cuts, scissor cuts, fades, and contemporary styles. Perform beard trims, line-ups, and facial hair detailing with precision and attention to detail. Consult with clients to understand their preferences and recommend styles, products, and grooming routines. Deliver consistently excellent customer service , ensuring each client feels welcome, listened to, and valued. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in compliance with state and shop standards. Manage appointment times efficiently to minimize wait times while maintaining quality of work. Handle point-of-sale tasks as needed (checking out clients, rebooking appointments, etc.). Collaborate with the rest of the team to support a positive, professional, and relaxed shop atmosphere. Stay current with men's grooming trends, techniques, and products and apply them in day-to-day work. Required/Preferred Qualifications & Skills Active Barbering License or Cosmetology License (Required) Demonstrated experience in: • Men's clipper cutting Scissor cutting and blending Fades , tapers, and modern men's styles Beard trimming , shaping, and detailing Strong customer service skills and a genuine desire to build long-term client relationships. Day shift availability (Required). Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and demeanor. Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment. 2+ years of experience in a barbershop or salon focused on men's hair (or strong portfolio if less experience). Confidence working with a diverse range of hair types, textures, and styles. Strong communication skills and ability to hold friendly, professional conversations with clients. A team-first mindset —willing to help out, share knowledge, and support co-workers. Interest in continuing education, advanced cutting techniques, and new grooming trends. Comfort working in a busy shop with walk-ins and appointments.
