Minimum Qualifications Current North Carolina Barber Instructor License Current North Carolina Barber License Work Experience :
Minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching adult learners the skills of barbering Preferably post-secondary teaching experience in a community college environment. Minimum of two years' continuous experience working in a barber shop environment as a barber Supplemental Information Ability to teach and demonstrate barbering theoretical and practical skills Working knowledge of instructional theory, basic education principles, practices and methodologies, the developmental process, competency-based curricula, and general classroom and lab practices. Possesses good organizational skills; knowledge of record-keeping procedures, including the ability to collect and organize data and information. Possesses effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and to manage work assignments in a highly interpersonal contact environment. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Handles student concerns in an appropriate and approved manner. Ability to think creatively and put ideas into action. Ability to make presentations to a classroom full of students. Personal integrity, honesty, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Understanding of the mission, goals, and objectives of a community college.Physical Demands :
