EXPERTISE BARBER INSTRUCTOR JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE
Barber Instructor
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Barber Instructor to lead and inspire aspiring barbers through comprehensive training and hands-on mentorship. Your energetic approach will foster a motivating learning environment, ensuring students gain both technical skills and confidence to excel professionally. The Barber Instructor is responsible for conducting professional classes and providing clinic floor coverage in accordance with the Institute's policies and procedures. This role requires punctual attendance and a professional appearance to support a positive learning environment. Key responsibilities include following the curriculum and lesson plans, conducting mock tests, reporting grades and attendance, and assisting students toward successful licensing and program completion. The Barber Instructor must also maintain current industry skills through continuing education.
JOB DUTIES
  • Perform demonstrations on mannequins or live models for practical classes, emphasizing safety, sanitation, productivity, and speed.
  • Adhere to all classroom procedures outlined in the Institute's Policies, Procedures & Conduct and Matrix.
  • Post daily schedules for Advanced Freshman assignments and ensure performance sheets are updated.
  • Evaluate student work, sign client tickets upon service completion, and monitor student compliance regarding breaks and timekeeping.
  • Conduct State Board preparation exams during the final 300 hours of training.
  • Ensure all client work is accurately recorded and reported to the receptionist.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions in classroom and clinic floor service areas.
  • Maintain required licensing through Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and attend mandatory training and staff meetings.
  • Purchase necessary textbooks within the first three weeks of employment.
  • Record theory and practical grades in the system within 24 hours of evaluation.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Barber License per State requirement
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Licensed Barber.
  • Prior teaching experience teaching the Milady Curriculum preferred but not required
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prepare lesson plans and utilize teaching aids (e.g., PowerPoint, whiteboards).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and provide personal professional tools.
  • Must have availability to work evenings and Saturdays, with travel between the North Las Vegas and Las Vegas locations.
