Cosmetology Teacher: Part-Time

The Farmingdale High School Career & Technical Education department is a growing CTE program that serves a motivated and diverse student body. We seek a passionate instructional leader committed to motivating all students to strive for academic and personal excellence. REQUIREMENTS

Must possess or be eligible for New York State Certification in Cosmetology Education Must possess active NYS Cosmetology License 5 or more years of full-time salon experience NYS Barbering License helpful The successful candidate will… Design and implement lessons aligned with NYS Career Development and Occupational Development (CDOS) and MST Learning Standards. Collaborate with Lead Cosmetology teacher to coordinate and manage lessons. Help students develop current and relevant trade-specific knowledge and skills. Enrich the instructional program with supplementary and practical real-life learning experiences and opportunities for students. Actively engage students in rigorous learning. Provide instruction that reflects and supports the diverse educational, cultural and linguistic needs of the students served. Establish and maintain a supportive classroom environment that provides for the social-emotional learning of all students. Effectively communicate with students and families. Proactively engage in continuous professional learning and growth. Positively contribute to the school community via collaboration and service opportunities.

Pay:

$35,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
