Part Time Pet stylist/ dog groomer

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Part-Time Pet Stylist and Dog Groomer, where your passion for animals and flair for grooming come together to create happy, well-cared-for pets. In this energetic role, you will provide professional grooming services tailored to each pet's unique needs, ensuring they look and feel their best. Your expertise will help strengthen the bond between pets and their owners while promoting a positive grooming experience. This position offers flexible hours, a lively work environment, and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of animals and their families. This position is opened for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday evening coverage. You will be paid 50% commission on all dogs you groom- this averages out from 25 up to 40 an hour. Responsibilities Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and finishing touches for dogs and cats if experienced and if desired. Assess each pet's coat condition, skin health, and temperament to determine appropriate grooming techniques. Handle animals with care and confidence, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the grooming process. Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, including sanitation of tools and workstations. Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences and provide professional advice on pet care. Assist with pet handling and restraint during grooming procedures to ensure safety for both pets and staff. Must have at least 2 years experience and be comfortable working alone. Skills Strong animal handling skills with body language knowledge. Knowledge of pet grooming techniques and pet styling trends. Ability to restrain animals safely using animal restraint methods. Excellent customer service skills to engage with pet owners positively. Familiarity with veterinary or kennel experience is a plus for understanding animal health needs. Capable of heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or large pets. Passionate about animal welfare with a keen eye for detail in grooming standards.
