Virginia current registered Barber Instructor License, minimum of 1 to 2 years teaching experience in a Barber academy/ community college and a minimum of 1 to 2 years working in a Barbershop. Applicant must be willing to obtain certification to teach/instruct, if an applicant already has a Virginia Barbers License but not yet have obtained an Va Instructors License as of yet. Qualified candidates must be knowledgeable of all the rules and regulations mandated by the Virginia Board of Barbers. Qualified candidates must possess excellent computer skills and have the knowledge to submitall required paperwork to the Virginia Board of Barbers. The duties for a Barber Instructor consist of teaching the approved curriculem and all course work as outlined by the Virginia Board of Barbers.
- Supervise instructional functions and student activities at Stylez & Kutz School of Barbering & Cosmetology and other signed locations.
- Assure the program meets standards established by the Virginia Board of Barbers
- Prepare and process course offerings and the class schedules that meet the program requirements and the needs of the students.
- Ensure instructional resources are being utilized efficiently and effectively
- Teach the curriculem with a focus on preparing students to pass the Virginias Barber Examination and enter the workforce.
- Provide instruction through non-traditional methods that employ a variety of techniques and simulations.
- Assist students with developing skills in basic academics, study habits, problem solving, decision-making, life managwement and critical thinking.
- Refer students to Stylez & Kutz School of Barbering & Cosmetology in order to enjance and develop their skills in time management, customer service, record keeping and advertising.
- Responsible for renewal of instructors certificate on an annual basis.
- Responsible for assisting with overall operationof the Barbering School.
- Responsible for maintaining and submitting accurate audible records to Virginia Boards of Barbers.
- The Barber School Instructor will be expected to devote the time required to the Barbering school by being present in the premises for instruction to the students.
- Develop student learning outcomes to enhace student learning.
- Incorporate the Virginia Board of Barbers general education outcomes into courses.
- Participate in program level assesment and planning.
- Perform other duties as neccesary.
