This energetic role involves delivering comprehensive classroom instruction, hands-on demonstrations, and practical training in a variety of cosmetology and barbering techniques. Responsibilities Deliver engaging lessons on barbering, hair styling, hair coloring, hair extensions, and other cosmetology services using effective lesson planning strategies. Conduct practical demonstrations of techniques such as hair threading, body waxing, facials, makeup application, eyelash extensions, and esthetic laser treatments. Teach advanced skills including trigger point therapy, anatomy knowledge relevant to aesthetic treatments, dermabrasion, deep tissue massage, and nail care. Guide students through hands-on practice sessions while providing constructive feedback to enhance their technical proficiency. Develop curriculum materials that align with industry standards and licensing requirements for cosmetology and barbering programs. Assess student progress through evaluations and exams to ensure mastery of skills before certification or graduation. Stay current with industry trends and new treatment modalities to continuously update course content and maintain program relevance. Requirements Proven experience as a licensed barber or cosmetologist with comprehensive knowledge of cosmetology disciplines including hair styling, coloring, extensions, esthetic treatments, and nail care. Prior classroom experience or teaching background in adult education or vocational training preferred. Strong understanding of anatomy related to aesthetic treatments and trigger point therapy techniques. Skilled in delivering engaging lessons on complex topics such as facial treatments, laser procedures, dermabrasion, and body waxing. Ability to develop lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles while maintaining clear objectives and outcomes. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate students and foster a positive learning environment. Certifications in esthetic laser treatment, deep tissue massage, facial techniques, or other advanced modalities are highly desirable.
