Job Description
Job Summary Performance of specific service components of in-home services as authorized including but not limited to ---personal care tasks for clients that are not medical in nature (eg. shaving, hair shampooing and combing, bathing and sponge bath, shower bath or tub bath, toileting, dressing, nail care, respiratory services, brushing and cleaning teeth or dentures and preparation of appropriate supplies, positioning/transferring client, and assisting client with exercise/range of motion. Ability to assist in the use of specific adaptive equipment, if the home service worker will be working with clients who use the device. Observation, reporting and documentation of client status and of the service furnished to the Agency. Maintenance of a clean , safe and healthy environment; Knowledge of basic personal and environmental safety precautions. Responsibilities and Duties 1. Helping to establish household routines 2.Teaching proper clothing care 3.Performing routine house keeping, such as making and changing of beds, dusting, washing dishes, vacuuming and keeping the kitchen and bathroom clean. 4. Follows a client's written Plan of Care 6.Giving non-medical personal care as needed. 7. Carrying out other duties as assigned by the Supervisor Qualifications and Skills One of the following types of education and experience: 1. A high school diploma or general education diploma 2. One year of employment in a comparable human service capacity, or experience in care for a dependent child or adult family member ;or 3. demonstration of continued progress towards meeting the educational requirement of a general education diploma by current registration and evidence of successful completion of course work.
