Graceland visitors come from all walks of life, all ages, all musical tastes, all income levels, all educational backgrounds, and all parts of the world. Our employees are ambassadors to Memphis and work hard to ensure all of our guests are treated with the same southern hospitality that Elvis Presley was known for. This position is located in the Merchandise Department at Graceland working in the Enesco experience, having variable/flexible working hours to include weekends, holidays, evening, and overtime as required. The rate of pay for this position is $16.00 per hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Merchandise Supervisors, assist guests with purchasing selections by making appropriate suggestions, answering questions on Enesco products and villages; process sales by entering correct prices in a computerized sales system through cash, or credit cards; stock and clean various merchandise racks as required; other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Experience using computerized cash systems and processing credit cards is helpful; must be able to work with large sums of money and be accurate; ability to cope with heavy workload; excellent communication and interpersonal skills both in person and on the telephone are essential; ability to prioritize and work with minimum supervision; excellent attention to detail; ability to perceive and deal with sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality; ability to deal successfully with a wide range of people; ability to work under pressure of deadlines and competing needs; ability to handle multiple tasks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand for long periods of time; ability to stoop and reach; ability to speak clearly and distinctly; lift packages weighing up to twenty-five (40) pounds.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

No smoking or eating in work area; uniform is required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Ability to work flexible, variable hours/days and overtime as required to include weekends and holidays.
