We own and operate our own equipment, meaning we personally oversee the care and disposition of a loved one from start to finish. Position Summary Cremation Society is seeking a certified Crematory Operator for its Romeoville, Illinois location. This is a part-time opportunity with the potential to grow into a full-time role based on business needs and performance. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, compassionate, dependable, and committed to ensuring a respectful and efficient cremation process for the families we serve. Responsibilities Ensure the respectful and efficient processing of remains through our Cremation Center Maintain accurate records and ensure all necessary paperwork, permits, authorizations, and releases are properly completed and on file Perform essential maintenance on cremation equipment Follow all local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to cremation services Assist with additional duties as needed to support daily operations Requirements Crematory Operator Certificate required Minimum of 2 years of experience as a crematory operator IVRS experience preferred, but not required Valid driver's license with a clean driving record per DMV report Skills & Qualifications Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with families during times of need Strong understanding of documentation, compliance, and record-keeping requirements Comfortable using computers and technology Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and multitasking skills Schedule This is a part-time, in-person position working approximately 20 hours per week. The schedule will include evening hours during the week as well as weekend availability. Specific scheduling details will be discussed during the interview process. There is potential for this role to transition into a full-time opportunity in the future based on business needs and performance.
