Crematory Operator Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Crematory Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating cremation equipment and ensuring that all processes are conducted with the utmost respect and professionalism. This role requires a strong attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to handle heavy lifting as part of the cremation process. Duties Operate and maintain cremation equipment, ensuring it functions efficiently and safely. Perform cremations in accordance with established protocols and regulations. Prepare remains for cremation, including necessary paperwork and identification processes. Conduct routine maintenance checks on industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance. Handle heavy lifting associated with the transfer of remains and equipment. Collaborate with funeral directors to coordinate services and meet family needs. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with health and safety standards. Experience Previous experience in a crematory or funeral home setting is good but not required. Mechanical knowledge is essential for operating and troubleshooting equipment. Familiarity with industrial equipment operation will be beneficial.
