Job Description:
As an Equipment Operator at Peaceful Pets, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the respectful and dignified handling of deceased animals while providing exceptional customer service. This position involves a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
Load, operate, and unload the equipment used for the respectful handling of deceased animals.
Keepsake Creation:
Create memorial items for families. Must appropriately organize our walk in refrigerator, helping families in chronological order, and make sure every animal is in their appropriate place Respectful removals: Treat animals with respect by making sure they are covered and carrying them with a gurney.
Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure its proper functioning.
Memorial Creation:
Process bones and create keepsakes such as paw prints, paw molds, and other memorabilia for clients.
Data Tracking:
Maintain accurate records and track data related to the handling of deceased animals and memorial services.
Transportation Services:
Safely transport deceased pets to and from clients' homes and veterinary offices while adhering to all applicable laws and guidelines.
Administrative Tasks:
Utilize computers and cell phones for administrative purposes, including answering phones, using management software, and inventory management.
Safety Measures:
Adhere to safety protocols, including wearing appropriate safety gear (goggles, mask, gloves, coat) and using proper lifting techniques (lifting up to 120 lbs).
Clean Working Environment:
Maintain a clean and organized working space at all times. This includes the building's exterior Building maintenance: Must assistance with all maintenance related to the business and the physical building
Customer Interaction:
Interact with clients empathetically, providing support and guidance during their difficult times.
Ventilation and Effluent Management:
Ensure the proper functioning of the ventilation system and oversee the appropriate discharge or hauling of effluent.
Transportation Guidelines:
Follow established guidelines for condolence, dignified body removal, and specialty removals during transportation services. Maintain clean appearance by keeping fingernails trimmed, well-groomed hair, and high personal hygiene standards to ensure no body odor. Must wear a Peaceful Pets polo tucked in at all times
Qualifications:
Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 120 lbs. Proficiency in using computers and cell phones. Strong communication and customer service skills. Willingness to work with empathy and compassion. Cross-training capabilities, including answering phones and using management software.
Schedule:
Full-time position: 40 hours per week Wednesday through Sunday 8 am to 4 pm If you are a compassionate individual who can handle the responsibilities of this role with care and sensitivity, we encourage you to apply and become a valuable part of the Peaceful Pets team.
