Medical Spa Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and business-minded Lead Medical Esthetician / Advanced Aesthetics Specialist to join our growing med spa in Deerfield Beach, FL. This is not a basic facialist role. We are looking for someone who can help us build and elevate our skincare, facial, laser/light-based, body, and advanced treatment menu. The ideal candidate understands skin health, treatment planning, consultations, client education, package sales, and how to combine modalities safely and strategically for better client outcomes. The right person should be confident performing advanced skin treatments, explaining why a treatment is recommended, building customized plans, and helping clients understand the value of packages, maintenance, and home care. We are especially interested in candidates with hands-on experience using aesthetic technologies such as laser/light-based devices, IPL, RF, microneedling, Hydrafacial-style treatments, chemical peels, body contouring, skin tightening, or similar advanced modalities. Specific brand experience is a plus, but not required. What matters most is strong clinical judgment, device knowledge, consultation skill, and the ability to help us build a high-quality treatment menu. Key ResponsibilitiesSkin Consultations & Treatment Planning Perform detailed skin consultations and comprehensive skin analysis. Identify client concerns such as acne, pigmentation, melasma, texture, aging, laxity, dehydration, scarring, and sensitivity. Conduct Fitzpatrick skin typing and understand how skin type impacts treatment selection, risk, and protocols. Create customized treatment plans based on client goals, skin condition, budget, timeline, and maintenance needs. Educate clients on realistic expectations, treatment series, downtime, aftercare, and long-term skin maintenance. Recommend packages rather than one-off services when clinically appropriate. Advanced Skin & Aesthetic Treatments Perform or assist with advanced aesthetic treatments within your license, training, and Florida scope of practice, which may include (do not need to check every box): Medical-grade facials Hydrafacial-style treatments Chemical peels Dermaplaning Acne treatments Pigmentation protocols Anti-aging and collagen-supporting treatments Microneedling or microchanneling, if properly licensed/trained and permitted under supervision RF, ultrasound, or body contouring treatments, if trained and permitted Laser/light-based treatments, if properly licensed, trained, and authorized under medical director protocols Pre
- and post-procedure skincare support Combination protocols with skincare, peels, devices, and home care Laser / Device Knowledge We are looking for someone who understands advanced aesthetic devices beyond just pressing buttons.
The ideal candidate should be able to explain: What each machine does Which skin concerns it treats Which clients are good candidates Which clients are not good candidates How skin type affects risk and settings When to choose one modality over another How to combine treatments safely What results are realistic What maintenance looks like Experience with devices such as IPL, laser hair removal, pico/nano lasers, RF, RF microneedling, ultrasound, cavitation, cryolipolysis, HIFEM/EMS, body contouring, or skin tightening is a strong plus, but do not experience in all. Specific device-brand experience is welcome but not required. We are open to candidates trained on platforms such as Lumenis, Candela, Cynosure, Alma, Cutera, Sciton, BTL, Venus, InMode, Lutronic, Hydrafacial, SkinPen, ProCell, or other advanced aesthetic technologies. Menu, Package & Protocol Development This role will help us build and refine our treatment offerings.
Responsibilities may include:
Helping design the facial and skincare menu. Recommending which treatments should be sold individually versus in packages. Creating treatment series for acne, pigmentation, anti-aging, skin tightening, body contouring, and maintenance. Helping develop pre-care and post-care protocols. Advising on product pairings and home-care regimens. Supporting the launch of new treatments and promotional campaigns. Helping train team members on treatment flow, client education, and service standards. Sales, Upselling & Client Retention The ideal candidate should be comfortable recommending products and packages in a consultative, non-pushy way.
Responsibilities include:
Recommend customized treatment packages and maintenance plans. Upsell complementary services such as skincare, peels, microneedling, RF, lymphatic drainage, body treatments, PRP/PRF support, or other appropriate add-ons. Recommend home-care products that support in-office results. Help improve client retention and rebooking rates. Participate in promotions, treatment launches, and membership/package strategies. Track client progress and help clients stay committed to their treatment plans. Documentation, Safety & Compliance Maintain accurate client records, treatment notes, consent forms, and before/after photos when applicable. Follow all spa protocols, sanitation standards, infection-control procedures, and device safety guidelines. Follow Florida state regulations and work within your license and scope of practice. Follow medical director protocols where required. Recognize contraindications, adverse reactions, and situations that require escalation to a medical provider. Educate clients clearly on pre-care, post-care, risks, and expected outcomes. Required Qualifications Active Florida Facial Specialist, Esthetician, Cosmetology, Electrologist, RN, PA, NP, or other applicable Florida license/credential. Minimum 2+ years of experience in advanced aesthetics, medical spa, dermatology, plastic surgery, or high-end spa environment preferred. Strong understanding of skin conditions, skin analysis, and treatment planning. Experience performing advanced facials and corrective skin treatments. Comfortable conducting consultations and recommending packages. Strong communication and client education skills. Professional, polished, warm, and client-focused. Strong attention to documentation, safety, and cleanliness. Willingness to participate in training, content creation, and treatment launches. Strongly Preferred Qualifications Experience with laser/light-based treatments, IPL, RF, microneedling, skin tightening, body contouring, or other aesthetic devices. Florida Electrologist license or laser/light-based training, if applicable to the services performed. Understanding of laser basics, including wavelength, energy, skin type, endpoints, and contraindications. Experience with Fitzpatrick skin types I-VI. Knowledge of medical-grade skincare lines and post-treatment protocols. Proven ability to sell treatment packages and improve client retention. Before-and-after portfolio, if available. Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Portuguese preferred. Social media presence or willingness to appear in educational/promotional content.
