Esthetician Reports To:
Director of Fitness & Spa Position Summary:
Provide clients with high-quality consultation to select an appropriate treatment, preparing a sanitary environment before a procedure and offering treatments such as facials, extractions, microdermabrasion, chemical peels and waxing. The esthetician's responsibilities include welcoming and greeting clients, ordering supplies as needed, and answering clients' questions. You should also be able to build and maintain relationships with clients to encourage repeat appointments.
Essential Functions:
Use cosmetic training to improve the skincare of the client. Evaluate a customer's skin condition and offer recommendations for treatments Recommend skincare products to customers, including lotions, facial washes and moisturizers Wax or pluck unwanted hair Perform professional quality facials with the intention of moisturizing and cleaning Maintain beauty and skincare tools Create excellent member/guest experience through friendly and helpful attitude
Esthetician Qualifications/Skills:
Strong customer service orientation Ability to communicate effectively (orally and written) Courteous and professional manner Ability to maintain client confidentiality
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Knowledge of and experience in performing facials is required Minimum of 500 hours of skincare education as well as required classroom work Must adhere to all applicable local and state licensing laws and regulations related to the esthetic services provided, including following any applicable law pertaining to maintaining current Esthetics License Participation in continuing education to improve effectiveness (preferred)
