Full Job Description The Opportunity:
We're expanding the aesthetics program at LUMEN Optimal Wellness — and we need someone who can lead it, not just work in it. This isn't a treatment-room job where you clock in, perform facials, and leave. It's a chance to own an entire aesthetic department inside one of Albuquerque's most innovative wellness environments — set the protocols, build the client base, and shape what premium skin care looks like in this city. If you're a few years out of school, still figuring out your clinical identity, or looking for a quiet part-time gig — this probably isn't the right fit, and that's okay. If you're experienced, confident, client-obsessed, and genuinely passionate about holistic wellness, keep reading.
About LUMEN Optimal Wellness:
LUMEN is a full-service optimal wellness center in Albuquerque's Nob Hill neighborhood. We offer medical-grade aesthetics alongside IV therapy, float therapy, hyperbaric oxygen, EmSculpt NEO, NeurOptimal neurofeedback, PEMF, infrared sauna, ARX adaptive resistance, and more. Our clients come to us because they're serious about their health — inside and out. We believe real beauty begins with what's happening on the inside, and we back that up with an integrated approach to wellness that most aesthetic providers can't offer. Our environment is calm, professional, and intentionally drama-free. Small team. Collaborative culture. Owner is actively involved and leads with integrity.
About This Role:
A year from now, you'll have built something real. A loyal client base that trusts you. A set of protocols you helped design. A social presence that reflects your expertise. And an aesthetics department that consistently delivers results that clients talk about. You'll be our sole esthetician as we rebuild this program — which means full ownership, full autonomy, and full accountability. As LUMEN grows, you'll have the opportunity to help hire and mentor the next generation of LUMEN estheticians.
What You'll Own:
Deliver advanced clinical treatments — RF microneedling, traditional microneedling, dermaplaning, HIFU/HIFES, facials, waxing, and best-in-class energy-based device protocols using BTL technology (Emface, Exion, Emsculpt NEO) Own the client experience end-to-end — consultations, treatment planning, rebooking, aftercare follow-up, and long-term relationship management Drive revenue through results-focused consultations — recommend packages, treatment series, and skincare products based on genuine client needs Build and execute the aesthetic marketing presence — content creation, before/afters, skin education, social media collaboration, and community event representation Create and maintain clinical protocols and treatment documentation in coordination with our team and standards Manage aesthetic inventory, device maintenance logs, and treatment room standards Integrate LUMEN's broader wellness offerings — actively educate clients on how IV therapy, PEMF, float, and other services complement their skin health goals
What We're Looking For:
Required:
Active NM Esthetician License in good standing Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience — you have a track record, a portfolio, and clients who have followed you Microneedling and dermaplaning certifications Demonstrated experience with energy-based devices — RF, RF microneedling, or similar technologies (BTL device training provided, but you need the foundation) Sales ability rooted in genuine client connection — you guide clients toward the right investment for their skin, not the highest ticket Strong communicator — comfortable on the phone, in consultations, and in front of a camera for content Self-directed — you can manage your own schedule, drive rebooking, and build a book of business without being micromanaged Alignment with holistic wellness — you understand and believe in the connection between internal health and skin outcomes; this isn't just a talking point for you
Preferred:
Experience in a med-spa, wellness center, or upscale clinical aesthetics environment Familiarity with BTL devices (Emface, Exion, Emsella, Emsculpt NEO) Existing Albuquerque client relationships you'd bring with you Experience creating social content — before/afters, reels, skin education posts Knowledge of functional or integrative wellness — nutrition, IV therapy, inflammation, gut-skin connection A Note on
Culture Fit:
LUMEN clients are health-conscious, curious, and investing intentionally in their wellbeing. They're going to ask you about what they're eating, what supplements they're taking, and how their stress is affecting their skin — and they expect real, thoughtful answers. If your philosophy is skin-deep (literally), this won't be a great fit. If you geek out on the relationship between gut health and acne, or love explaining why someone's hydration protocol matters as much as their serum — you'll fit right in.
Compensation & Benefits:
$20-$25/hour base, commensurate with experience, plus generous service-based and sales-based commission Performance bonuses tied to department growth Complimentary and discounted access to all LUMEN services — sauna, float, IV, PEMF, NeurOptimal, ARX, and more Generous employee discounts on aesthetic services and skincare retail Paid sick time Flexible scheduling in a supportive environment How to
Apply:
Apply through Indeed with your resume and a short note about your experience and what draws you to a wellness-integrated aesthetic practice. Before/after photos, client testimonials, or examples of your work are a strong bonus — we look at every application personally.
