Job Description

Funeral Home Removal Technicians are responsible for the dignified & professional removal and transportation of deceased individuals from various locations to a funeral home. The position includes physically picking up individuals from crime scenes, accidents, hospitals, nursing homes, and residences of the deceased and transporting to designated facility.
Responsibilities:
  • Dignified & Safe Removal:
    The primary responsibility is to remove deceased individuals from homes, hospitals, residences, nursing homes, accidents and crime scenes, ensuring a respectful and safe process.
  • Transportation:
    Safely transport the deceased to the funeral home or other designated location.
  • Interacting with
Families:
Courteously and professionally interact with bereaved family members, exhibiting sensitivity to the environment and minimizing conversation during home removals.
    Documentation:
    Responsible for accurate paperwork and record-keeping related to the removal and transportation process.
    • Collecting Personal Effects:
      May be responsible for collecting personal effects from the deceased.
    • Maintaining Vehicles:
      Ensure that company vehicles are clean and in good working condition.
    • Following Procedures:
      Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures related to body removal and transportation.
    • Maintain the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality, and composure at all times, exhibiting indisputable integrity, and the highest degree of sensitivity with our client's families in challenging situations.
    • Must be available to work a rotating on-call monthly schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced, detail-oriented environment.
    • Must be able to follow a Global Positioning System (GPS) or other forms of direction.
    • Must be able to lift and/or move 150 lbs. or more.
    • Must have a full functioning smartphone.
    • Must have his/her own means of transportation to get to and from work.
    • Must dress professional in appearance.
    • Must be able to change directions in a multitasked environment.
    • Must have a valid driver's license.
    • Must possess a clean driving record.
    • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent required.
    • Candidates must be able to pass a background check.
