Job Title:
Licensed Embalmer Job Purpose California Licensed Embalmer to work our night shift from 11 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. In this position you will take first calls. You will be communicating with families in their darkest hour, so your customer service skills must be on point. Our overnight embalmers receive customer first calls and arrange for decedent transport. However, the primary duty is caring for decedents and preparing them for final disposition. Your computer skills must be solid and your attention to detail must be strong. Document management is a necessary and important aspect of this position. Essential Responsibilities 1. Receiving and verifying the decedent's identity, taking inventory of personal effects, setting features, bathing and autopsy repair, embalming if requested, applying cosmetics, hairstyling, dressing, casketing of decedent and all other aspects of preparation. 2. Obtaining and recording necessary information; advising clients accordingly. 3. Cleaning and disinfecting as necessary in accordance with industry standards. Education High school diploma or equivalent plus an AA degree (preferred) License Requirements Current California Embalmer License Solid knowledge and understanding of State of California regulatory requirements and mortuary industry standards Skills and Abilities
