Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Embalmer and Funeral Director to lead and coordinate all aspects of funeral services with professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail. In this vital role, you will guide families through difficult times, ensuring their loved ones are honored with dignity and respect. Your expertise in anatomy, physiology, and sanitation will ensure all procedures adhere to industry standards and safety protocols. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of grieving families while demonstrating exceptional customer service and event planning skills. Responsibilities Provide bereavement support to families, offering comfort and guidance throughout the funeral planning process Coordinate funeral arrangements, including scheduling, transportation, and service logistics, ensuring seamless event execution Prepare bodies for viewing through cosmetology, dissection, and sanitation procedures while maintaining respectful handling at all times Oversee heavy lifting and physical tasks related to body transportation, casketing, and setup of funeral services Manage sales activities related to funeral packages, merchandise, and memorial products with professionalism and sensitivity Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by maintaining sanitation standards and proper dissection techniques when necessary Assist families with documentation requirements, including death certificates and legal paperwork Experience Prior experience in funeral directing or related roles within the funeral services. Licensed in Indiana. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to handle body preparation accurately and respectfully Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service during sensitive situations Experience in event planning to coordinate funeral services efficiently Familiarity with bereavement support practices to assist grieving families effectively Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting safely and efficiently Knowledge of sales techniques within a service-oriented environment is advantageous This role is a paid position committed to supporting you through comprehensive training and ongoing professional development.
