Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Director to join our team at our two locations in Spencer & Leicester, MA. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the funeral service industry and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills. This role involves guiding families through the grieving process, coordinating funeral services, and ensuring that all aspects of the service are handled with dignity and respect. The Funeral Director will also be responsible for managing logistics, compliance with regulations, and providing bereavement support to families during their time of need. Responsibilities Provide compassionate support to grieving families and assist them in making funeral arrangements. Coordinate all aspects of funeral services, including transportation, preparation of the deceased, and event planning. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to funeral services. Perform necessary embalming, cosmetology, and sanitation tasks as required. Maintain accurate records and documentation for each service provided. Engage in sales activities related to funeral products and services while maintaining ethical standards. Manage heavy lifting tasks associated with handling caskets and other equipment. Offer bereavement support and resources to families following the service. Experience Proven experience in funeral directing or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is beneficial for performing embalming procedures. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with bereaved families. Familiarity with event planning principles as they relate to memorial services. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role. Experience in cosmetology is a plus for preparing the deceased for viewing.
