  • Recommend, arrange and conduct memorialization services/tributes according to the Saul Funeral Homes standard of service and family requests and selections
  • Demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of service options and pricing
  • Working knowledge of the General Price List to educate and establish credibility with Client Families
  • Supervise all who will be participating in the carrying out of any particular service
  • Ensure that each member of the team is fully briefed on their duties and ensure that their appearance / demeanor / conduct complies with Saul Funeral Homes standards Personnel Development/Training/Supervision
  • Adopt and execute the Saul Funeral Homes standard of excellence and service
  • Support, encourage and assist fellow employees to ensure the highest quality of professional services Market Share/ Growth
  • Demonstrate local knowledge of and good communication with community members, leaders, clergy, hospitals, nursing homes, hospices, cemeteries, crematoria, etc.

  • Monitor and improve on personal Client Family Survey results Financial Performance
  • Show responsibility for the financial success of personally arranged and/or conducted funerals
  • Secure all accounts using the Payment Policy

  • Demonstrate attention to expense control Internal Roles & Duties
  • Ensure that all required paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Monitor security of premises, money, documents, merchandise and equipment
  • Implement FTC regulations properly
  • Though not the primary role for this position, have the ability to perform clinical care associated with the preparation room to include the embalming, preparation, dressing and cosmetising of deceased's as needed
  • Participate in the transfer of deceased's from residences, nursing homes, hospitals and hospice facilities to company location(s) ensuring that proper practices are followed and Saul standards are maintained, as needed
  • Ensure facility and equipment is maintained to the highest standard according to
OSHA / ADA
/ EPA and Saul Funeral Homes' guidelines 3) Job Requirements
  • Must have met education and license requirements for a New Jersey Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer and possess valid license with 1 - 5 years of previous funeral director/embalmer experience, as well as obtaining necessary continuing education credits to maintain licensure
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to speak effectively before funeral guests or employees of the company in the execution of funeral-related services
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, involved instructions; to navigate problems having several concrete variables in or from standardized situations
  • Possession of a valid driver's license is required with an insurable driving record
  • Must possess a strong base knowledge for computer skills using both custom software and "off the shelf" software 4) Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate by means of the spoken word both face to face and over the telephone
  • Ability to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly in order to move or carry objects
