The Embalmer reports to the Location Manager and may perform other funeral-related duties as needed or requested by management. Additionally, the Embalmer ensures compliance with OSHA standards and precautions. Embalmer duties must be performed consistently with the company's mission and values, and in adherence to company policy and procedures. Essential Functions and Competencies Cares for the deceased in a respectful manner while performing a variety of tasks, including embalming, removals and transfers, cosmetology, dressing, hairstyling, and any other preparation required for human remains Adhere to all professional, municipal, state/provincial, and federal licensing authority regulations applicable to embalming and preparing human remains Create and maintain an Embalming report for all deceased prepared, ensuring that all company removal paperwork is completed accurately. Keep and maintain a log of all deceased in their care as well as those transferred from our care. Promote a safe work environment by being aware of and practicing universal precautions and adopting general principles of safe conduct. Assists with the maintenance of the preparation room and the facility Receive and maintain inventory for caskets and other funeral home supplies. Scheduling removal technicians for removals. Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings At times, may report directly to the RVP regarding facility/equipment needs and work with the RVP to maintain budget goals.
