1:30 PM - 10:00 PM - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday The Linen Service Specialist is responsible for the restocking, inspection, and transportation of clean linen carts throughout hospital facilities. This role also includes the collection and proper handling of soiled linen in designated areas for preparation and shipment to laundry services according to established schedules. This position requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to safely handle heavy mobile equipment in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Key Responsibilities Restock clean linen carts along assigned routes within required timeframes Accurately count and track linen inventory using approved linen management systems Inspect linen items and remove damaged, soiled, or non-compliant items Maintain proper organization of linen carts and distribution equipment Replace and manage soiled linen bags and ensure supplies are adequately stocked Collect soiled linen from designated storage areas and transport to assigned locations Safely maneuver carts and bins weighing approximately 130 lbs empty and up to 500-700 lbs when full Maintain cleanliness of assigned work areas, including removal of debris or stray materials Report linen shortages, equipment issues, or operational concerns to supervision Support staffing needs by assisting in other areas or campuses as required Follow all hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards Provide professional and respectful service to hospital staff and departments Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations Required Qualifications Ability to read, write, communicate, and understand instructions in English Ability to accurately count and perform basic inventory tasks Basic computer skills Strong reliability and attendance record Ability to follow safety procedures and operational guidelines Physical Requirements Ability to push, pull, and maneuver heavy linen carts (130-700 lbs depending on load) Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout shift Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment
