Laundry Aide

Opened in the Fall of 2020, Apopka Health & Rehabilitation Center is a 180-bed skilled nursing facility on the North side of Apopka. Our community is full of dedicated and compassionate caregivers, and we are looking for additional team members to work with our at-risk patient population.

Specific Requirements:

Must be able to read, speak and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served. Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel. Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level in which they are currently functioning. Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing activities. Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition. Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

Laundry Aide Responsibilities:

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laundry room and storage area Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to prevent the spread of germs and ensure a safe work environment Sort and process soiled linens and clothing according to established procedures Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment to clean and sanitize linens and clothing Inspect clean linens and clothing for stains, tears, or other damage, and report any issues to the supervisor Fold, stack, and distribute clean linens and clothing to designated areas within the facility Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying the supervisor when supplies need to be replenished Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of laundry tasks and support overall operations within the facility Laundry Aide requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy loads of laundry. Willingness to adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
