9:00am-5:30pm QPS Employment Group has a great Linen Assistant position available at a company in Quincy, IL. This is a 2nd shift opportunity with the opportunity for hire. Linen Assistant Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Load and unload laundry items from washers, dryers, carts, and conveyor systems.
  • Feed clean laundry into flatwork iron press machines and finishing equipment.
  • Operate flatwork iron pressing machines, air finishers, shirt finishers, and related laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Spray carts with disinfectants and wipe down carts and work areas to maintain sanitation standards.
  • Shake out linens and materials to remove wrinkles and creases before processing.
  • Position linens and flatwork items properly onto feeder ribbons or conveyors for machine processing.
  • Smooth and guide linens by hand during ironing and finishing processes to prevent folding and wrinkles.
  • Fold flatwork and finished laundry items and place products into baskets, carts, or conveyor systems.
  • Finish shirts and garments using presses including sleeves, collar-cuff, and body press equipment as required.
  • Process perm-press articles through steam conditioning equipment to remove wrinkles and set finishes.
  • Inspect finished linens and garments for quality, cleanliness, and damage.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and operational guidelines.
Linen Assistant Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Previous laundry, housekeeping, production, manufacturing, or general labor experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work in hot and humid environments.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, overtime, or weekends as needed.
