at QPS Employment Group in Quincy, Illinois, United States Job Description QPS Employment Group has a great Linen Assistant position available at a company in Quincy, IL. This is a 2nd shift opportunity with the opportunity for hire. Linen Assistant Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Load and unload laundry items from washers, dryers, carts, and conveyor systems.
- Feed clean laundry into flatwork iron press machines and finishing equipment.
- Operate flatwork iron pressing machines, air finishers, shirt finishers, and related laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Spray carts with disinfectants and wipe down carts and work areas to maintain sanitation standards.
- Shake out linens and materials to remove wrinkles and creases before processing.
- Position linens and flatwork items properly onto feeder ribbons or conveyors for machine processing.
- Smooth and guide linens by hand during ironing and finishing processes to prevent folding and wrinkles.
- Fold flatwork and finished laundry items and place products into baskets, carts, or conveyor systems.
- Finish shirts and garments using presses including sleeves, collar-cuff, and body press equipment as required.
- Process perm-press articles through steam conditioning equipment to remove wrinkles and set finishes.
- Inspect finished linens and garments for quality, cleanliness, and damage.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times.
- Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and operational guidelines.
