Job Description

Hiring For Full TimePart Time Positions Summary:
This position is responsible for conducting linen inventories and restocking linen supplies to recommended par levels. Attendants assist hospital personnel with refreshing the linen carts and closets and are responsible for collected soiled linens for transportation back to the laundry.
Primary Job Duties:
Intake, sorting, and laundering of soiled linen. Maintains linens stored in assigned units in a neat and orderly fashion. Counts inventory in assigned units and restocks linens to par level according to the schedule. Collects all soiled linens from assigned units, utility closets, chute rooms, etc. Performs all duties in compliance with Joint Commission and Infection Control protocol. Responds to pager and phone calls from units; resolves customer issues in timely manner. Documents pages and phone calls in the linen room Phone Log. Represents SHS and the hospital in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Assists SHS driver with linen delivery and all other duties as may be assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements:
Associate must be able to lift 25 to 50 pounds on a continuous basis. Associate must able to push/pull linen bins weighing up to 700 pounds. Associate must be able to repetitively grasp, push, pull, bend, stretch and stoop. Associate must be able to stand/walk 100% of the scheduled workday. Associate must be able to follow instructions and to interact appropriately with coworkers, hospital personnel, patients, visitors and management. Associate must be able to demonstrate their ability to count accurately and do simple arithmetic. Associate must be very dependable and punctual. Associate must be able to work evenings, weekends and overtime as needed by the business.
