Job Description

This will be a 2nd shift position in the laundry department that is 3pm-11pm. Full time hours will be available and applicants should expect to be included in a weekend rotation. For more information regarding this position please contact Linda McMillian at 336-786-2133
Summary:
Washes garments and linens as necessary in an electrically powered washing machine. Places clothes in drum of washer and adjusts valves to admit water of proper temperature. Adds soap solution, starts drum rolling and stops machine after articles have been washed and rinsed. Transfers washed articles from washer to dryer and to baskets for distribution. Hangs finished garments on hangers or folds and stacks garments. Distributes clothes to Resident's rooms. Performs duties as assigned by laundry supervisor.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for washing laundry in a manner that will not damage either the machine or garments, washing contaminated linens separately if necessary, avoiding overloading machines. Reports malfunctions of equipment.
Qualifications:
High School Education preferred but not required. Must be able to read, write and follow instructions. Some laundry experience desired but not necessary. Will receive on-the-job training. Must have knowledge of commercial laundry processes, equipment and procedures for both washing and ironing materials.
