Laundry Attendant

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Remove laundry from chutes and carts
• Sort all linens and treat stains
• Maintain count of discarded items
• Ensure chemicals are used and stored correctly
• Load all laundry into washer and add specified cleaning agents
• Take wet, clean items and dry as directed
• Fold and stack towels, sheets and linens to hotel standards and keep stock organized
• Wash bed wraps, duvets, mattress pads, and blankets in accordance with hotel standards
• Maintain inventory of all cleaning supplies and communicate needs to General Manager
• Clean lint trays and dryer vents
• Maintain all laundry equipment and inform General Manager of any maintenance needs
• Ensure soiled and damaged linens are stored in appropriate bags and disposed of correctly
• Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
• Maintain regular attendance and timeliness in compliance with hotel standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
• Maintain a professional image and positive attitude at all times
• Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service Management Contributions for

• Providing brand standard training on the efficient way to run the laundry room
• Provide feedback throughout training process
• Assist with any training that may be required to enhance job performance

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Basic reading, writing and math skills This job requires the ability to perform the following:
• Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and the ability to push and pull
• Prolonged standing and moving about the hotel
• Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
• Frequently bending, stooping and kneeling
• Able to work alone as well as being a team member
• Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays
