On-call Maintenance Technician - Laundromat

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial washers and dryers in a laundromat environment. The technician will ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and provide a positive customer experience. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair issues with commercial washing machines and dryers Perform routine preventive maintenance on laundromat equipment Inspect machines regularly to identify potential problems Replace defective parts such as belts, valves, motors, pumps, and heating elements Clean lint traps, vents, drains, and internal machine components Test machines after repair to ensure proper operation Respond quickly to machine breakdowns or customer-reported issues Maintain maintenance logs and service records Ensure compliance with safety standards and equipment guidelines Assist with installation of new washers and dryers when needed Qualifications Experience repairing commercial or residential washers and dryers Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems efficiently Familiarity with common laundromat brands (e.g., Speed Queen, Maytag, Huebsch, Dexter) preferred Ability to use hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing devices Strong problem-solving skills Reliable transportation Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ pounds Ability to bend, kneel, and work in tight spaces Comfortable working in a warm and sometimes noisy environment Preferred Skills Appliance repair certification or technical training Experience with coin-operated or card-operated laundromat machines Basic understanding of gas dryers and electrical systems
