This position ensures residents' clothing, linens, and personal items are properly cleaned, organized, and distributed while maintaining infection control standards and assisting nursing staff as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing and facility linens. Label and organize residents' personal clothing to prevent loss or mix-ups. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of laundry equipment and work areas. Follow all infection control, OSHA, and safety procedures. Monitor laundry supplies and report shortages or equipment malfunctions. Maintain resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members. Complete documentation as required by facility policy. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in laundry services or long-term care preferred. Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures. Ability to lift, carry, and push laundry carts and supplies. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Compassionate and professional attitude toward elderly and disabled residents. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to heat, detergents, and cleaning chemicals. Work Environment Skilled nursing and long-term care facility setting. May include weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
