Job Description

The Position Tesoro, Western New York's leader in wedding and special event rentals, is looking for a hands-on, working supervisor to run our commercial laundry facility in Lockport, NY. Be part of a passionate team that plays a key role behind the scenes, helping create unforgettable weddings and special events across WNY. Your work ensures every linen, dish, and piece of flatware is spotless, perfectly prepared, and ready to impress at every celebration. This is not a desk job — the ideal candidate is actively engaged in physical tasks and leads a team by example. Our laundry facility supports event operations by ensuring that all rental inventory—linens, flatware, china, and more—is cleaned, counted, organized, and ready to go out the door on time.
Order Flow Overview:
Before Events:
You and your team will assemble and stage outgoing rental orders. Clean, pressed, and polished inventory is pulled, counted, packed, labeled, and prepared for delivery according to each order's specifications. Accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail are critical in this process.
After Events:
Upon return, all items must be unpacked, counted, inspected, and documented. Linens are sorted by type and condition, with stained items spot-treated before laundering. Dishware and flatware are washed using commercial equipment. Once cleaned, items are returned to inventory and stored in an organized manner for future use.
Responsibilities Include:
Actively work alongside and manage laundry facility staff (typically 4-6 employees) to ensure smooth, efficient operations Oversee the preparation of outgoing orders and the intake and processing of returned inventory Ensure facility cleanliness, workflow organization, and adherence to quality and safety standards Remove stains using proper methods and pre-treatment procedures Operate and monitor commercial laundry equipment (washers, dryers, ironers, dishwashers) Perform regular equipment checks (lint traps, detergent levels, ironer maintenance) Report maintenance or repair needs to the General Manager Track inventory movement and maintain accurate order records Supervise the cleaning of soiled linens, dishware, and flatware Conduct quality control inspections before items are approved for delivery Provide occasional support at event locations as needed
Qualifications & Key Traits:
Comfortable with physical work and being on your feet for most of the shift Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly This is a hands-on role requiring frequent manual work; those looking for light supervisory or desk-only roles need not apply Extremely long nails can make certain tasks difficult to perform safely and efficiently, so candidates should be prepared for a practical, hands-on environment Valid New York State driver's license and reliable vehicle required 2+ years of laundry facility experience is preferred — but we welcome candidates from other industries who bring a strong work ethic, strong leadership, organizational skills, and a willingness to learn Prior experience managing a team (in laundry, hospitality, retail, or similar environments) Excellent time management and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and lead by example Neat, efficient, and detail-oriented Can remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment
Benefits:
401(k) plan with generous company match Paid Time Off (PTO) Health insurance
Additional Details:
