Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Laundry Aide to join our team for the 2pm - 10pm shift! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards through efficient laundry and housekeeping services. Your efforts will ensure a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors alike. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a positive community atmosphere while developing valuable skills in cleaning, custodial work, and facilities maintenance. Responsibilities Perform laundry duties including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and clothing with attention to detail and care. Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms, common areas, hallways, bathrooms, and other facility spaces through sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting. Use commercial cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and floor scrubbers to ensure floors are spotless and well-maintained. Assist with light custodial tasks including trash removal, replenishing supplies, and ensuring sanitation standards are met consistently. Support facility maintenance activities by reporting any repairs needed for laundry machines or cleaning equipment. Follow safety protocols during all cleaning procedures to prevent accidents or injuries. Contribute to a positive environment by providing friendly service and respecting residents' privacy and dignity. Qualifications Prior experience in janitorial or custodial work is preferred; experience with industrial cleaning or commercial cleaning is a plus. Knowledge of floor care techniques such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning. Familiarity with laundry operations including sorting, washing cycles, stain removal, and folding. Ability to operate cleaning machinery safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks involving lifting or bending.
