The Laundry Worker is responsible for performing laundry duties in accordance with established procedures to insure proper infection and disease control; implementing specific procedures and programs; coordinating work within the department as well as with other departments; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for essential duties.
Essential Responsibilities:
Perform laundry duties in accordance with established procedures to insure proper infection control. Collect, sort, washe, soak, and dry soiled laundry and linen; operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipments. Folds, stacks and delivers laundry, linen, and residents' personal clothing. Inspect laundry and linen for needed repairs, etc. Implement procedures that reduce the loss of laundry items and participates in location of missing items. Handle contaminated linen according to infection control procedures. Maintain equipment and supplies in an orderly manner and keeps work area clean, safe, and sanitary; uses supplies and equipment according to directions; inventory supplies on an ongoing basis and notify appropriate personnel of needed supplies. Perform all essential housekeeping duties within the laundry area. Perform other required duties.
